Word Bearers Daemon Prince

As I walk the path to glory, I have left a trail of dead stars and burning worlds in my wake. The skulls of the false emperor’s faithful heroes adorn my war plate. I daub my visage with their blood. And with this final sacrifice, I place the crown of atrocity upon my own head. I have ascended! And now The Great Work can truly begin.

This is a diorama of the Daemon Prince for my Word Bearers warband. It depicts a faithful acolyte assisting his lord with the rites of ascension to daemonhood. On the floor is some poor ministorum priest who ended up as a sacrifice for the ritual. The priest’s head, broken weapon, and desecrated scripture, along with the cultist himself stand at the 4 cardinal points. His blood forms the summoning circle. And in his disemboweled viscera you can see his precious little aquila.

This was intended to be more of a diorama than a playable model. But just in case I ever did want to play a game with him, I made the summoning circle the exact size of the Daemon Prince base. That way I can at least measure distances correctly.
